M.020 That feeling

Something has changed .
At least that’s how it feels.
It began as a small itch in the fall.
Became more noticeable in November and December.
Now it’s impossible to ignore.
The feeling that we are in the middle of something historic.
Something I will look back at.
Asking what I thought at this exact moment.
Why I did as I did.
Something that makes me want to drop everything.
To fully catch the wave.
Or to move to a remote farm without internet.
You might think this something is AI.
It isn’t.
It’s that feeling created by the state of AI.
That feeling of shock and awe.
Of fear and joy.
Of optimism and pessimism.
Other things can evoke each of these.
With AI, it’s all at once.
Strong, weird and unpredictable.
So what do I do?
I do it all.
I humanize and automate.
I slow down and speed up.
I connect and disconnect.
Which does, and doesn’t make sense.
Because AI is a contradiction.
It’s alive and it’s dead.
It’s present and it’s distant.
It’s here and it isn’t.
All this makes everything easy.
And hard.
At the same time.
But the feeling is clear. Strong. Unmissable
If you have it, you know what I mean.
If you don’t, enjoy the bliss while it lasts.

Well put! I think I know exactly what you mean. It's getting harder and harder to sleep.. 🥱☺️
